Join our Purrfect Day cat and explore the world of cat grooming and determine if it’s the right path for you. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this course offers valuable insights and hands-on experience.
During the one-day cat grooming course, you will:
- Learn what cat grooming entails.
- Brush up on and refresh your existing skills.
- Receive an Absolutely Animals attendance certificate.
Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to observe and participate in cat grooming sessions, with the freedom to take notes and pictures for future reference.
This one-day course is ideal for those new to cat grooming who want to learn the basics, as well as for those who wish to refine their skills under the guidance of professional cat groomers.
Feline Experience – 3 Days Tuition
This Feline Experience is designed for dog groomers or individuals experienced in feline handling, such as veterinary nurses, feline breeders, and cattery assistants.
Over three days of intensive cat grooming, you will work with a variety of breeds, coat types, and temperaments.
During the course, you will learn how to:
- Evaluate a cat’s temperament and prepare for bathing, grooming, and finishing.
- Apply the correct procedures tailored to each cat’s condition, needs, and temperament. (We never know what will come through the door!)
- Work with a target of grooming at least two cats per day, though you may have access to more.
- Prepare and de-mat the cat prior to bathing, then bathe, dry, and ready their coat for styling.
- Perform basic styling of a cat’s coat, including the Lion trim or full coat removal.
- Use grooming equipment correctly, and learn how to clean and maintain it.
- Handle and control cats safely and effectively.
Upon completion, you will receive an Absolutely Animals Certificate of Attendance in Feline Grooming.
Mastering the Meows – 8 Days Tuition
Mastering the Meows is ideal for those who may not yet be confident in feline handling but wish to offer cat grooming services to clients.
Over the course of eight days, you will work with a variety of breeds, coat types, and temperaments, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of cat grooming.
Throughout the 8-day course, you will learn how to:
- Assess each cat’s temperament and prepare them for bathing, grooming, and finishing.
- Groom at least two cats per day, though you may have access to more.
- Apply the correct grooming procedures based on each cat’s specific condition, needs, and temperament. (Every day brings new challenges with different cats!)
- Prepare, de-mat, and groom cats before bathing.
- Bathe, clean, dry, and prepare cats’ coats for styling.
- Perform basic styling, including Lion trims or full coat removal.
- Use grooming equipment effectively, and learn proper cleaning and maintenance techniques.
- Handle and control cats safely and confidently.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded an Absolutely Animals Certificate of Attendance in Feline Grooming.
Groom Your Own Cat
This course is perfect for those who want to learn how to maintain their own cat’s grooming between professional sessions or acquire the skills to style their cat at home.
The course lasts half a day and can be booked as either a morning or afternoon session. The cost is £150, plus the cost of grooming your cat—making it a wonderful bonding experience for you and your feline friend.
